Product (Books, E-Books, Audio Books) Terms and Conditions

All books are non-returnable and non-refundable. If there are any issues with the printing of your book, we will work to get you another book to replace your current book or product. To apply for a replacement, please provide us with pictures of your issue so we can file an official complaint to get the book reissued. If you are unable to download your e-book in time before it cancels (within 3 days), we are able to re-issue access one additional time. If the e-book is not downloaded, there is a $2.99 fee plus processing to reissue access for an additional time.

If, after the second time, the e-book is not downloaded, you will have to repurchase the e-book. Books ordered from the site are placed within 2 business days from the initial day of purchase (except during the holiday seasons). Shipping and production times do vary, but most clients will receive books within 1 to 2 weeks, and e-books, audiobooks, or other digital products are typically received within an hour of payment. For all pre-orders, items will be sent once the book or digital files are available for release. An email will be submitted to you to confirm the release and confirm your shipping and processing details. If you do not receive your books or digital, downloadable products, please contact us with the information below.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you help your clients? We offer content editing, copy editing, ghostwriting, formatting, distribution, speaking to print, transcription, file copyright information, registering ISBN numbers, managing ISBN numbers, creating book covers*, and providing coaching services to teach others to publish for themselves.

How long does your process take? Typical books are started and completed normally within 90 days, dependent on payment schedules and calendar updates. At the time of your start, we anticipate completing your work within 90 days, and most clients within 30 to 45 days.

Can my completion date change? Yes, if payments are made at different times, or review periods last longer than expected. The author is engaged in every step of the process. Also, if the author wants to do a rewrite, this will add considerable time and may even render the time period back to the start or later.

How does the calendar work? We take on new clients as we look at our calendar to ensure every client has the best customer service and quality of service. We have a 3-day hold period for onboarding and cancelation requests. After the three-day hold, we schedule clients within 1 to 2 days. Services are rendered over 3 to 7 business days, depending on the phase for completion of that work. When deadlines are missed or schedules are adjusted, it changes how we can render services. It is important that if there are any changes, those changes are communicated as quickly as possible.

Do you charge late fees? No, we do not charge late fees on payments. If there is a delay on your account for more than 30 days, we will remove you from our calendar. Once you are removed from our calendar, you must wait until we have an opening to resume any services. We do charge a restart fee of $35 to be added back to the calendar. The ability to resume service is subject to KLE’s availability, and the request can be denied at our discretion to restart any project that has been removed from our calendar. The restart fee is $105 if restarting is habitual or greater than one attempt to restart.

What does KLE do to help the author? For authors using our KLE Management services or books sold on the KLEPub.com store, we assist with customer service associated with delivering and printing books. We report on all orders sold. We provide free graphics to help generate pre-sales and sales of the book. We provide tips on selling books, creating ads, and providing consulting when requested. We help authors set sales goals and determine revenue based on book sales and other services that can be coupled to make more sales or spread awareness. We also provide every author with their own landing page on the KLEpub.com site that we manage. We provide the author with their own inquiry form we set up for authors so customers and readers can connect with them directly or reserve them for speaking engagements. These requests are forwarded directly to the authors. I recommend authors have a domain name to access the page directly, but it is not mandatory to have the page. KLE manages the pages and makes updates once a month. For your first year of services, the domain name is paid by KLE. After, an annual charge of $30 is accessed to the author to maintain the domain name. Books can be made unavailable (pulled from our site), but we reserve the right to include the book on our site and other platforms for promotional reasons.

How much will my book cost? We recommend all books that are self-published sell for at least $20 and an additional $5 on sites and distribution channels outside of KLE. KLE charges a reduced fee of 25% (for books) to 25% (digital copies/E-book) fees to sell authors’ books and products on our site. Authors who have their own portals can elect to ship directly from the printer or forward their sales to another platform for processing. Traditional bookstores and POD systems assess a distribution fee between 30%-40% of the sales price. All major outlets will charge a percentage of 30%– 40% of the sales minimum (you can choose to give as much as 50%). (50% is most stores preference). We distribute to 39,000 outlets through our preferred partner, which has distribution with Amazon (All Countries), Barnes & Noble, and many other platforms. Some platforms are digital only; not having an e-book would mean you are not featured on those sites. KLEPub.com fees range from $2 to $5 depending on the product ($2 E-book, $4 book, $5 audiobook on average).

When I publish my book, does that include an e-book too? If you want to distribute an e-book, that is an additional expense to publishing your book to make it accessible on the distribution network of 39,000 outlets. To add on, books are reduced from the prices associated with authors who want e-books only. Ask for current pricing. Please be aware there are pricing restrictions set by the distribution company on e-books.

How much will my books cost? For KLE Pub Management clients, usually, the books print for about $3 – $3.50 per book (Varies on page count, color or B&W, and if the book is paperback or hardback. Hardback books are more based on page count and color also.) Because print costs vary per book, and print costs increase over time, this price may be updated to reflect those charges at any time and with little to no notice. Books, on average, range from 80 to 120 pages, word count is 14,000 to 20,000 words. Our books are normally printed 5×8, but other dimensions are offered. Changing the dimensions of the book can also change the price, but that isn’t too often. Printing on paper or hardback is available. Your book can have more than one media form, but you will need an ISBN for each media type.

How much will I make per book? Books using the KLE Publishing Management services: For the KLEPub.com website, Book prices set on the site do not include shipping and handling; these costs are additional. For example: Books that are $25 will be accessed taxes, shipping, and handling, which would raise the price to $31 or thereabout. The additional $6 to $8 is not part of the author’s compensation. From the $25, the print fee would be say $3, then you would pay the 25% retail fee of $6.25. The total deduction is $9.25, and your payment would be $13.50. On other distribution outlets: We recommend selling all books on distribution channels higher than our website because of the 30% – 35% charge. So books usually start at $27, from this cost you would subtract the 30% to 35% fee. From the remaining balance, you would subtract the print cost of $3 – $3.50, and the remaining would be the authors’ compensation. If we manage the book, it would be a $1 fee for reporting. On average most authors make $13.50 and higher if the book price is more per book.

When will I receive reports on books sold? All of our clients have access to their portal and can view their sales at will. Sales reports are generated once a month for KE Management Clients and sent to the author on the 15th of the following month. For example: Book sales reports for orders made in the month of January, will be provided to the author by Feb. 15th.

How will I get paid? Compensation from books is sent directly to the author from the Author’s Portal. Payments are submitted via PayPal.com or bank direct deposit.

Will I get a year-end report? Your Author’s portal will provide you with the details you need for how many books you sold year round.

How long does it take to make changes to my flyer? Graphic changes are completed within 3 to 5 business days.

If I want to change my author’s webpage. How long will that take? We make changes to the site monthly on or near the 30th of each month. Please submit any changes by the 26th to be sure your changes will be included.
